Collection description

Scope and content:: The fonds contains meeting minutes, a filing register, financial registers of the community and of the burial society (chevra kadisha), and Hazkarot.

Archival history:: The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.

Administrative/biographical history:: Jewish settlement is documented in Mladá Vožice from the mid-17th century. A religious community was probably established there at the start of the 18th century. In 1897 it incorporated part of the area of the disbanded Jewish communities of Pacov and Radenín (Prasetín, Těchobuz, Vodice; Dolní Hořice, Chotčiny). The Mladá Vožice community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
