Scope and content:: The fonds contains the statutes of the Jewish Religious Community of Kostelec nad Orlicí (1896, 1902), correspondence, statutes (1891) and files of the burial society (chevra kadisha). It also contains the interest rate book of the Perlhefter Foundation (kept until 1940) and a cash book of the burial society of the affiliated community Doudleby nad Orlicí (kept until 1939).

Archival history:: The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.

Administrative/biographical history:: Jewish settlement in Kostelec nad Orlicí existed from the end of the 18th century. Jews were prohibited from living in the town until 1860. A Jewish religious community was established in 1893. It was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War and did not subsequently resume its activities.
