Collection description

Scope and content:: The fonds contains personal documents relating to family members and photographs.

Archival history:: The material was donated to the Jewish Museum in Prague in 2014-15 by George Sachs.

Administrative/biographical history:: Pavel Koretz was born in Prague in 1906. He worked as an official and was a member of the B'nai B'rith Lodge. He emigrated to the USA before the Second World War. His wife Helena (née Zabilová) was born in Louny in 1907. His parents, Alois and Zdenka, died in the Lodz ghetto. A member of his extended family who survived was Eva Sachs (b. 1924); after the war, she emigrated to the USA with her husband Jiří (George) Sachs.
