A sporadic Jewish settlement (one family) in Stod is documented from the 17th–18th centuries. It was not until the middle of the 19th century that a more substantial settlement emerged. A prayer association was probably established there in 1862, becoming a separate religious community in 1873. The community was disbanded after the annexation of the Sudetenland by Nazi Germany in 1938 and did not resume its activities after the Second World War.
