Archival history:
The records were incorporated into the archives of the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War as part of shipments of material from Jewish religious communities that had been disbanded.
Administrative/biographical history:
The medieval Jewish settlement in Příbram ended in the middle of the 16th century, when Jews were expelled from the town. It was not until after the middle of the 19th century that Jews returned to the town. A new religious community was established there in 1862. The community was disbanded by the Nazis during the Second World War but subsequently resumed its activities.
