The collection holds the records of the Rosenfeld Brothers’ Wine Seller Company from the short period of 1933-1935, when the company was run by Sándor and Pál Rosenfeld. Only fragments of the documentation survive, which mostly concern financial and administrative matters, including one box of various invoices submitted by business partners from 1935, ledger (főkönyv) and cash register log (pénztári napló) from 1933-1935.
Archival history:
The records of the Rosenfeld Brothers’ Wine Seller Company were probably taken over in the 1950s by the Nagykőrös branch of the Pest County Archives. The material was rearranged and described in its present form in 1978.
Administrative/biographical history:
Soma (Samuel) Rosenfeld founded a vinegar factory in Nagykőrös in 1882, which his family turned into a wholesale fruit and vegetables trade company in the 1910s. This company became one of the largest and most profitable agricultural businesses in town under Miksa Rosenfeld. After his death around 1924-1925, his wife Malvin Bruck and his sons Pál and Sándor continued to run the company. The Rosenfeld Brothers went bankrupt in the late 1930s and was liquidated in 1941.
