Scope and content:: The collection holds the records of the Budakalász Textile Works Henrik Klinger Inc. and one of its branch factories, the Sepsiszentgyörgy Textile Works from the establishment of the Budakalász factory in 1927 to the end of World War II. Henrik Klinger was a Jewish industrialist. Only fragments of the documentation survive, which mostly concern financial and administrative matters, including accounts (mérlegek), minutes of the assemblies (közgyűlési jegyzőkönyvek) from the years 1925-1936, Reports on Final Accounts (zárszámadások/Schlussrechnung) of the Budakalász and Sepsiszentgyörgy factories from the years 1939-1943, tax declarations (adóbevallások), as well as invoices submitted by business partners, documentation of technical equipment and miscellaneous publications.

Archival history:: The pre-1945 records of the Budakalász Textile Works were probably taken over in the 1950s by the Nagykőrös branch of the Pest County Archives. The material was rearranged and described in its present form in 1981.

Administrative/biographical history:: Henrik KlingerKlinger Inc. had a wholesale trade business specialising in textile products used in agriculture, which operated textile factories in various parts of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Having lost many of its branches and business interests after the Peace Treaty of Trianon, the company decided to establish a textile factory in Hungary, which they built in Budakalász in 1923. The Sepsiszentgyörgy factory was acquired by Henrik Klinger in 1904. The Budakalász Textile Works was nationalised in 1948 and continued to function until the 1990s. The Sepsiszentgyörgy branch shared the same fate in Communist Romania.
